And Now, Dora?

Editora Matrescência, 2024

Published in 2024 by Editora Matrescência and written by Jessica Marzo, And Now, Dora? is a book that invites young readers to reflect on the importance of healthy boundaries — showing that, although hearing “no” can be frustrating, it is also a profound expression of love and care from those who look after us.

The main challenge in illustrating this project was to translate a visually complex narrative into images that remained gentle and poetic: as the story unfolds, Dora, the protagonist, finds herself in a world without limits, where every excess leads to subtle yet seemingly irreversible consequences that gradually alter her presence in the pages.

The visual approach was carefully crafted to preserve the tenderness and sensitivity required by the theme, offering an experience that embraces both children and adult readers. In addition to creating the illustrations, I was also responsible for the project’s graphic design and overall visual concept.

And Now, Dora? allowed me to dive deeply into one of the aspects I value most in my artistic practice: the ability to tell emotionally meaningful stories through lightness, respect, and visual beauty — qualities I strive to bring to every project I take on.
